It's almost unbelievable that we've been open for 11 years but 14th September 2013 was indeed that long ago and I've loved every minute.

Stock may have changed somewhat with the years but the idea remains the same – selling beautiful quality yarns, needles and notions to customers and friends who want to enjoy the project every bit as much as the resulting garment. I want everything you buy from Sitting Knitting to be a joy to work with and perfect for creating things that you’ll want to wear for years to come – classics and natural fibres, not fast fashion and landfill clogging synthetics.
The pleasure for me is in passing on the knowledge that I first learned from my mother and continue to learn as the years go by, playing a tiny part in keeping these incredibly important crafts going and introducing my kind of mindfulness to a new audience. It’s a pleasure to be here to support customers as they quickly improve their skills and take on more and more interesting and challenging projects.
So thank you all so much for supporting my little woolly dream, be it either remotely or in visits to the shop. I will be here as long as there is a need for a local yarn shop in Mere Green – to chat and to learn, to look and squish and to share our love of making.
